Einstein (1918: 241) formulated “Mach’s principle” excluding any source of gravitation different from energy (incl. mass) to revise his main equation(s) in general relativity adding the cosmological constant, which was called “the biggest blunt” by himself (Gamov 1970: 44) after Hubble’s discovery of the expansion of the universe. Einstein’s application of “Mach’s principle” involved a hypothetical constant to conserve the universe stationary as the simplest conjecture. Nevertheless, the “biggest blunt” of some nonzero cosmological constant is very widely utilized nowadays in different cosmological models of the expanding universe and even confirmed experimentally.
